J.K ROWLING
Joanne Kathleen Rowling or more commonly known as J.K. Rowling is certainly no stranger to lovers of the Harry Potter novels and films. J.K Rowling is the author of the legendary Harry Potter novel who has been appointed to the big screen and became a Mega Box Office film. And the novel brings blessings to J.K. Rowling who made him the richest writer to date.
Born in Yate, North Gloucestershire, England on July 31, 1965, J.K. Rowling was dreaming of becoming a writer. By the time he was only six years old, he had already written children's stories about rabbits and at the age of eleven wrote other stories.
As an adult J.K. Rowling studied at the University of Exeter - English majoring in French. He decided to go to Portugal after completing his education and teaching English. There he ended his bachelor years, married a Portuguese journalist, Jorge Arantes, but his marriage ended in divorce. After the divorce, J.K. Rowling decided to move to Edinburgh. In this city, he experienced economic hardship.
When in trouble, J.K. Rowling continued her post which had been delayed. The idea of writing Harry Potter was born when he took a train from Manchester to London in 1990. On arriving in Edinburgh, J.K. Rowling has completed three chapters of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
After experiencing several rejections, J.K. Rowling finally managed to market his book, Harry Potter. In 1997 this book became one of the bestsellers and was translated into various languages. More than 35 million copies of these books were printed in 35 languages.
The Harry Potter novels have sold more than 450 million copies worldwide and have been made to the big screen produced by Warner Bros. The Harry Potter film is also the most successful serial film of all time. Even though the Harry Potter series was finished, J.K. Rowling never stopped writing. He continues to produce other novels such as: The Tales of Beedle the Bard, The Casual Vacancy and Cuckoo's Calling.
